More than 2,100 Ho Chi Minh City Primary School students competed in an English musical about Vietnamese history

On the morning of April 25, 2023, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training held a summary. To reward the contest "English music - drama about Vietnamese history" for students in the 2022 - 2023 school year.

Ms. Lam Hong Lam Thuy - Head of Primary Education Department of the Department of Education and Training said that this year's contest attracted more than 2,100 primary school students. Participating students come from 22 districts and Thu Duc City.
Ms. Thuy evaluated the contest as a playground to help students demonstrate their English skills. Helps improve acting skills as well as help students better understand their country's history.
Foreign teachers evaluate the students' English speaking ability very well.

The eight best performances were selected to perform at the closing ceremony. Most of the performances are adapted from events. From the stories of historical figures such as Hai Ba Trung, Tran Quoc Toan, Vo Thi Sau, Nguyen Van Troi, 10 girls at Dong Loc intersection,...

The audience was moved when watching the students' skits

In particular, the skit "10 girls at Dong Loc crossroads" by students of Hoa Phu Primary School (Cu Chi) brought many viewers to tears.

This skit won second prize overall along with other skits Hai Ba Trung (Tan Son Nhi Primary School, Tan Phu District), Saigon Practical Primary School, Phu Tho Primary School (District 11), Kim Dong (District 12), Nguyen Dinh Chinh (Phu Nhuan District).

The skit "Tran Quoc Toan - Defeat the enemy - Repay the King" by Lac Long Quan Primary School (District 11) won the excellent award.

First prize went to Vo Thi Sau School (District 7) and Phan Chu Trinh (Tan Phu District).

In addition to awarding collective awards, the organizing committee also awarded outstanding individual awards to 86 students.

In addition to the staging, the emphasis is on historical figures. The skits also incorporate music pieces with re-written English lyrics. Students also perform in the form of rap, youth music, cai luong, folk music... Bringing many emotions when watching the skits.
